FANCO’s deployment platform is designed around a simple reality: major energy users need reliable power before any new advanced reactor can complete licensing and deployment.

BRIDGE POWER™ is a proprietary phased approach to developing an energy project around both the customer’s immediate power needs and its long-term nuclear strategy.

FANCO is targeting initial power generation as soon as 36 months after a project is authorized. The actual timeline will depend on permitting, financing, grid connection, equipment availability, and construction requirements.

The bridge to advanced nuclear energy

Rather than waiting for the reactor before beginning site development, FANCO plans the complete energy park from the outset using conventional generation systems and supporting infrastructure ready for the integration of EAGL-1. The result is a project that can begin addressing near-term energy demand while building toward long-term nuclear generation.

 

Begin generating power and revenue sooner

During the BRIDGE POWER phase, commercially available package boilers supply steam to a conventional turbine-generator system. This allows the site to begin producing electricity while EAGL-1 advances through engineering, licensing, manufacturing, and deployment.

Importantly, BRIDGE POWER uses conventional equipment while the same site, infrastructure, and conventional island are prepared for the nuclear transition.

By developing the site and major balance-of-plant infrastructure early, it’s possible to establish an operating energy asset rather than leaving capital committed to a site that produces no revenue during the nuclear development period.

Fact Check

Some gas-to-nuclear approaches involve extensive separate interim equipment that may later be retired or replaced. With BRIDGE POWER, the package boilers are the only interim equipment, designed to share turbine infrastructure with EAGL-1, reducing the need for duplicate systems and avoiding some of the costs of transitioning to nuclear power.

The transition to nuclear

During the bridge phase, package boilers produce the steam that drives the turbine-generator. Once EAGL-1 is deployed, heat from the reactor is used to produce steam, allowing the site to transition to nuclear power without replacing the entire power plant.

The transition will be tailored to each project, but the goal is to carry over as much of the existing workforce, equipment, and infrastructure as practical.

Built to address obstacles

FANCO understands the factors that stall nuclear projects, including licensing, manufacturing, construction, customer contracting, and financing. FANCO designed a deployment platform to systematically coordinate each of them from the outset.

Aligned interests

FANCO starts with the customer, bringing utilities, site owners, developers, and capital providers together to define the project and align interests before major construction begins.

Regulatory engagement

EAGL-1 is in the pre-application engagement phase of the licensing process with U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, covering design criteria, functional containment, coolant behavior, fuel qualification, safety analysis, and risk assessment.

Modular, factory-built reactor

EAGL-1 is being developed for repeatable factory fabrication: major components and subassemblies are intended to be produced, tested, and shipped to the project site rather than constructed on-site from scratch. Work is shifted into controlled manufacturing environments, potentially reducing the schedule and cost uncertainty typical of bespoke nuclear construction.

Energy park configuration

EAGL-1 can be deployed as a standalone 240 MWe unit or as part of a multi-unit energy park serving larger loads, utilities, or regional demand, so customers can scale capacity in phases instead of committing to one large project up front.

Phased capital deployment

BRIDGE POWER is designed so that conventional infrastructure can be developed and financed separately from the specialized nuclear phase. This flexibility can support different investment stages and ownership structures within a single long-term energy plan.
